Blunt Appoints Local Residents to State Boards

Gov. Matt Blunt appointed four area residents to state boards, commissions and councils on Friday.
Jeannette Brown, of St. Louis, and Wilbur Craig McGuire, of St. Peters, were both appointed to the Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board for terms ending April 2010. Brown is a counselor at the Center for Biblical Counseling and Education. McGuire is a lieutenant in the St. Charles County Sheriff's Department and commander of community education section since 1995.
Frederick Palmer, of St. Louis, was named to the Missouri Abraham Lincoln Commission for term ending Dec. 31, 2009. Palmer is senior vice president for government relations at Peabody Energy.
Rebecca Herwick, of Florissant, will serve the Missouri Head Injury Advisory Council for a term ending May 2009. Herwick is president and chief executive of Global Products Inc. She was recently appointed to the National Women's Business Council.
